Cricket Blast on the Gold Coast — Cricket for Kids Aged 4–7

Looking for your child’s first taste of cricket? Woolworths Cricket Blast at Mudgeeraba Nerang & Districts Cricket Club is the fun, safe way for boys and girls aged 4–7 to learn the game. Sessions run Friday afternoons, 4:30–5:30pm at our Carrara home ground — an easy drive from Mudgeeraba, Nerang, Robina, Worongary and Highland Park.
No experience needed. No skills required. No expensive gear. Just 60 minutes of throwing, catching, batting and giggling every week — and parents are welcome to join in the fun.
What Is Cricket Blast?
Cricket Blast is Cricket Australia’s official entry-level program for kids aged 4–7. Instead of drills and rules, kids learn the basics of batting, bowling, throwing and catching through fun, modified games — building the motor skills, confidence and teamwork that set them up for every sport, not just cricket.
At MNDCC, every Cricket Blast session is run by Cricket Australia–qualified coaches holding current Working With Children Blue Cards. And it’s completely safe for little ones: we use plastic bats and soft rubber balls.
What Your Child Gets
Every Cricket Blaster receives their own Cricket Blast participant pack, including:
- T-shirt with their name on it
- Bucket hat in their choice of Big Bash team colours
- Their own plastic bat and ball to keep
- Personalised bat sticker sheet and skill scorecard

All session equipment is supplied by the club. Just bring a hat, a water bottle and plenty of energy.

What age can my child start Cricket Blast?
From age 4. The program suits kids aged 4–7 of all abilities — no prior skills needed at all.
Where is Cricket Blast on the Gold Coast?
At the MNDCC grounds, Nielsens Road, Carrara — about 10 minutes from Nerang, Robina and Mudgeeraba.
Does my child need any equipment?
No — everything is supplied, and your child keeps the bat and ball from their participant pack. Just bring a hat and water bottle.
Is Cricket Blast safe for a 4-year-old?
Yes. Sessions use plastic bats and soft rubber balls, activities are designed for little bodies, and every coach is Cricket Australia qualified with a current Working With Children Blue Card. Parents are encouraged to join in too.
What happens when my child turns 8?
